Wonderful trip made in October 2015, with the pleasant company of Filippo, in the photo on the cover together with the curandero, at that time little more than a teenager, as soon as he turned 18 he boarded a plane with me and we faced a journey with pleasant adventures, all without any organization or too many schedules.
My only intention was to go to the forest areas to meet indigenous communities in the hope of establishing relationships for the collection of some medicinal plants.

I only had one contact, a Quechua from the northern areas, who however kindly offered us his support to explore the territories of south-eastern Ecuador.

Thus was born this ethnobotanical exploration and in this case that I present to you in this ethno-musical project.

The recordings are all made in the territories around a town called Macas, where we met a curandero from the Shuar culture and had a profound experience with sacred plants.

People of warriors with a bloody reputation, famous for cutting and reducing the head, widespread too excessively as a story that in reality only in battles and with the fall of valiant warriors did they implement this practice, with the exception of the end of 1600 when the conquistadors thirsty for gold plundered here and there, while reaping terror and bloody clashes, subduing everyone they encountered.

The Shuar were also called the guardians of nature.
